Climate-Action Startup Offering Voluntary Chemical Engineer Semester Internships

Internship Summary:

Fidenso is excited to welcome skilled, motivated and hard-working individuals currently enrolled in a business or marketing undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate programme.
Applicants should be a) passionate about climate activism and generating global impact through entrepreneurship and b) seeking hands-on experience in an early stage impact startup.

Interns will be researching and compiling carbon offsetting/reduction strategies for our individual customers, establishing partnerships with carbon offsetting partners, improving our carbon emissions measurements methods and contributing to new solution ideas.

This is a great opportunity for any candidate interested in influencing real change, benefiting from the experience of working in a fast-paced startup environment, implementing their own ideas and working with a multidisciplinary team.

About Fidenso:

Fidenso is an impact startup providing software data analytics and visualisation tools to SMEs and governmental organisations so that they can measure their carbon footprint in real-time, offset it intelligently and ultimately progress to becoming a carbon-neutral business. We are female-founded, Irish-owned and sustainably run. We use innovative data engineering techniques and equivalent carbon emissions (CO2e) expertise to support our clients to cost-effectively reduce their emissions and ultimately to reach their climate targets. Our mission is to enable entrepreneurs and business owners to grow the next generation of carbon-zero companies, to supply consumers and investors with the option of supporting such companies and ultimately to reduce net global equivalent carbon emissions by 10 million tonnes per year.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the Team Fidenso to compile an evidence-based menu of Fidenso-verified reduction strategies and offsetting partners, to establish partnerships with these organisations and to support evidence-based carbon emissions data analytics.
  • Contributing to brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas.
  • Leading projects inspired by your own ideas about how to improve the product for our customers. We value your input!

What You Bring:

  • Experience (or career interest) in the following preferred: life-cycle analysis of greenhouse-gas emissions, carbon sequestration, data analysis.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English. German or French would be an advantage.
  • Organised, meticulous, creative. The applicant must be prepared and excited to contribute to weekly brainstorming sessions and to immediately follow-up by reaching out to customers to test new ideas or finding new customers to test on.
  • Self-directed and capable of taking initiative without supervision.
  • Genuine passion for global impact-driven entrepreneurship and working at the front-line of climate activism.

Additional information:

  • Voluntary Internship for a maximum of 10-15 hours/week with the possibility to divide the workload with a ‘co-intern’ (in this case apply as two people), including weekly team meetings, brainstorming sessions and product development projects.
  • Internship to run from January to March 2021. Weekly scheduling flexible and will be based on your availability and Fidenso’s needs at the time.
  • Applicants should have access to a reliable Internet connection, a computer running the latest version of either Mac OSX, Windows or a flavor of Linux and a webcam.
