Studies in Biology
Structure
The regular study time for the Bachelor in Biology at ETH is three years, during which you gain an extensive theoretical and practical background in Biology through various lectures, practicals and specialized lab courses. The first two years consist of obligatory subjects in Natural Sciences and Mathematics, while the third year is distinguished by the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of in-depth lectures (concept courses) and lab courses (block courses). You can learn more about the structure of Biology studies here.
Taster Days and Lab Tours
To get a taste of how Biology is studied at ETH, the VeBiS organizes a yearly Orientation day for those interested in studies. You will get to see the ETH campus, visit a lecture and ask any questions to current Biology students on site.
The Department of Biology also provides an opportunity to have a sneak peek at lectures (from the old and new curricula) and to take a digital lab tour of some research labs.
Students' Experience
Many newly incoming students have great impressions of studying at ETH and getting through the notorious first year. Here, you can find out more about the impressions our students had about their first year of Biology and ETH in general.
Stay tuned, under construction...
